The recession could be an ideal time for internet-based businesses to start up.
That is according to eBay, which today (June 17th) published its Online Business Index, and found that 69 per cent of internet companies are confident about their outlooks for the upcoming three months.
Spokesperson for eBay, Vanessa Canzini, noted that this is the first recession where internet trading has been prominent, and that it could be an ideal opportunity for business start-ups.
She said: "There has never been a better time to start [trading online], particularly if you believe the reports that we are starting to see signs of recovery."
The eBay statistics also show that 69 per cent of e-businesses were looking to expand during the next 12 months.
