21st Century Network (21CN) is a next generation network infrastructure, but it's much more than that. It's about supporting the next generation of services and revenues for BT - and BT's customers, the Migration Control Centre has a fundamental part to play in this. BT has developed a tightly managed, rapid rollout plan that will get the 21st Century Network across the UK in the quickest possible time. These plans - which aim to substantially complete the national 21CN rollout by the end of decade - are challenging with economic and practical realities governing rollout speed.
The Migration Control Centre (MCC) is the Mission Critical control centre at the centre of this, set up to migrate BT Wholesales customers from the 20th Century Network across to the 21st Century Network. Moving customers over to BT’s new 21st Century Network isn’t going to happen overnight – it’s a long process that involves meticulous planning. That’s why BT is not leaving anything to chance and has set up the Migration Control Centre (MCC) – at the heart of the company’s commitment to ensure a successful physical migration of all its voice and broadband customers to 21CN over the next five years.
The Migration Control Centre is a mission-critical team and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is based in Walsall in the West Midlands.
NB: The content found within these pages and related pages appertaining to the MCC is still in development. For access to PSTN MCC Migration Documents including reports please see Migration Portal.
